Holly Izard resides in East Texas. She is a wife, mother, graphic designer, photographer and artist. She participates in local art walks and gallery exhibits. Holly is drawn to nature and textures, and it shows in her work.
Here is what Holly says:
“My goal as an artist is to help others see everyday objects in a different way. Finding beauty in the mundane is my specialty. I am fascinated with nature, rust and interesting textures. Creating art makes me feel alive… invigorated.
The majority of my paintings come from photographs I have taken. My preferred medium is acrylic, but I have begun to experiment with watercolor, mixed media and creating textures with modeling paste. Many tools are used to put paint onto the canvas. Sometimes it’s paintbrushes, and other times it might be toothbrushes, combs, foil, my fingers, paper towels—anything I can get my hands on to achieve the correct effect.
I tend to photograph and paint what catches my eye. My main focus this year will be experimenting more with textures.”
We proud to have Holly’s works now at Valeria ArtLab, so please come see us.
